Day 1: Nairobi to Tsavo West

We depart by road to Tsavo West National Park, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy an optional game drive, either in the afternoon or evening. Tsavo West is the most popular part of Tsavo National Park, offering numerous attractions beyond its diverse wildlife. One of the highlights is the renowned Mzima Springs, where up to 227.3 million liters of cool, crystal-clear water flow from the ground through porous volcanic rocks. This water is thought to originate from the Chyulu Hills, traveling underground. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park

After breakfast, we embark on a full-day game drive with a packed lunch. Key attractions include the Roaring Rocks, named after the winds that gust through them, offering stunning views over Tsavo from a 98-meter cliff face. Similar panoramic vistas can be enjoyed from Poacher’s Lookout. Another interesting site is the volcanic Chaimu Crater, less than 200 years old and composed of black lava rock, which is climbable for those who are interested. The area is a prime spot for spotting the klipspringer, a small and nimble antelope whose Swahili name, mbuzi mawe (mountain goat), reflects its agility. In the southwest of Tsavo West, Lake Jipe straddles the border between Kenya and Tanzania. After exploring, return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Tsavo West to Amboseli

Start your day early with a drive to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival, check in at your accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Amboseli, located south of Nairobi, is dominated by a dry, ancient lakebed surrounded by fragile grasslands and patches of acacia woodland. The southern area of the park features small, rocky volcanic hills, while the swamps of Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok boast lush vegetation with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park

Wake up early for the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro before the summit clouds over, then enjoy breakfast and a packed lunch. You may also opt for a visit to a Maasai village, where you can experience their traditional singing, dancing, and sacred rituals. A visit to their homes offers a unique insight into their social structure and daily life. Despite its varied habitats, Amboseli is one of the best places in Africa to observe elephants up close, especially as they feed and bathe in the swamps, free from poaching threats. Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Amboseli to Nairobi

After an early morning game drive, return to your accommodation for breakfast. Following breakfast, you’ll be transferred to your hotel or the airport in Nairobi.
