Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and Transfer to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel in Arusha. Once settled, if time permits, you may explore the city and visit the local market.
Day 2: Tarangire National Park
Your safari adventure begins today with a thrilling game drive in Tarangire National Park, one of Tanzania’s most picturesque parks. This park is renowned for its large elephant herds, tree-climbing African pythons, and iconic baobab trees.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park
Start the day early with a guided bush walk, led by Maasai guides, in the Wildlife Management Area adjacent to Tarangire. This area serves as a crucial buffer zone between wildlife and local communities. After breakfast, you’ll collect picnic lunches and head to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. Despite its relatively small size of 330 square kilometers (230 of which are lake), the park boasts an incredible variety of ecosystems, supporting over 380 bird species and a rich diversity of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions, leopards, baboons, and more. In the evening, you’ll return to your lodge for dinner and rest.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater
Today’s adventure takes you to the famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most dramatic landscapes in the world. As you descend into the crater, you’ll have the chance to witness the “Big Five”—elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and rhinos—amongst a staggering population of 30,000 animals. The area is also home to an impressive array of bird species.
Day 5: Departure
After breakfast, if time allows, you can enjoy a nature walk before being transferred to the airport for your onward journey.
