7 Days Zanzibar Honeymoon Holiday

Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar

Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be transferred to the historic Stone Town, the cultural heart of Zanzibar. This ancient city has changed little over the past 200 years, with its winding alleys, bustling bazaars, mosques, and grand Arab houses that reflect the opulence of their original owners.

Day 2: Stone Town Tour & Changuu Island Boat Trip

Today, you will explore the most iconic sites of Stone Town. The tour includes a visit to the former slave market site, the Cathedral Church of Christ (built in 1874), the Sultan’s Palace (now a museum), the House of Wonders, the Arab Fort, and the Natural History Museum. You will also walk through Zanzibar’s vibrant market, charming alleyways, and admire the intricately carved doors.

Stone Town, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is protected for its historical significance. After the tour, you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant (at your own expense).

In the afternoon, board a boat to visit Changuu (Prison) Island, a picturesque isle just 5 km from Stone Town, about a 30-minute boat ride away.

Day 3: Jozani Forest & Cultural Experience

This day is dedicated to exploring the southern part of Zanzibar, starting with Jozani Forest, one of the last remaining sanctuaries for the endangered red colobus monkeys. You’ll have ample opportunities to photograph and observe these rare creatures as you walk through the forest trails.

Next, you’ll visit Jambiani Village, where you’ll learn about traditional livelihoods. A local guide will introduce you to a traditional herbalist who will demonstrate the uses of local herbs and medicines. You’ll also visit an organic plantation and witness seaweed farming, a trade predominantly run by women. This cultural tour provides a rich insight into Zanzibar’s village life and its people.

Day 4: Spice Tour & Pwani Mchangani Beach

After breakfast, enjoy a fascinating Spice Tour in Kizimbani Village. Zanzibar is known as the “Spice Island,” and during this tour, you’ll discover a variety of aromatic plants such as cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, as well as tropical fruits like jackfruit, lychee, and pineapple. You’ll also see plants like the henna bush, perfume tree, and lipstick tree.

Following the Spice Tour, you’ll travel to Pwani Mchangani Beach, located in the northeastern part of the island, and check into your beach resort.

Days 5-6: Pwani Mchangani Beach

Spend these days relaxing on the pristine shores of Pwani Mchangani Beach. Optional water sports are available at an additional cost. Ocean Paradise Resort offers a luxurious setting for a romantic getaway, featuring beautiful landscaped gardens, a large swimming pool, and traditional round chalets with makuti roofs, all set against a backdrop of swaying coconut palms and the sparkling ocean.

Day 7: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport, marking the end of your memorable Zanzibar honeymoon.
